Hello
I discovered my passion for 3D modeling while studying design in college. It started as a hobby, creating intricate designs and perfecting my skills in digital sculpting. As I delved deeper into the world of 3D modeling, I found myself drawn to creating detailed parts for miniatures. The ability to bring tiny creations to life through intricate designs fueled my creativity and drive to excel in this niche field. Today, I am proud to showcase my work and share my journey of exploring the endless possibilities of 3D modeling for miniature parts.

Where the story began
In December of 2018 is when I got my first 3d printer a Creality Ender 3I started by familiarizing myself with the printer, honing my understanding of its intricate workings. This foundation laid the groundwork for me to leverage my rudimentary CAD skills effectively. I made parts to fix broken items around the house and redesign others that were poorly constructed.
The early days with Fusion 360
I have been using Fusion 360, a CAD software, to design various basic models for some time now. However, as years passed, I realized that the type of models I predominantly worked on were not ideally suited for CAD software. After working with Fusion 360 for years to design a variety of models such as accessories, scale models, and parts for wargaming miniatures, I came to realize that the type of models I was focusing on were not the best match for the capabilities of CAD software.
The start of working with Blender.
I Embracing Blender for 3D Modeling Journey
Transitioning to a new software environment can indeed feel overwhelming, especially when delving into the intricacies of 3D modeling. To advance my skills in this realm, I recognized the need to push past the initial complexities of Blender. While I had previously used Blender for small, straightforward tasks, truly harnessing its potential required a deeper dive.
To navigate this new terrain, I turned to online resources like YouTube tutorials. One particular gem stood out amidst the sea of guidance—the "Blender Donut" playlist by Blender Guru. This series not only demystified Blender's tools and features but also provided a foundational understanding of 3D modeling principles.
Through dedicated learning and practice inspired by the invaluable insights gleaned from the tutorial series, I gradually honed my skills. Today, I credit much of my progress and proficiency in 3D modeling to the guidance found in the "Blender Donut" playlist by Blender Guru. As I continue to explore and refine my craft, I carry with me the lessons learned from overcoming the initial hurdles and embracing the vast potential of Blender.
Exploring Diverse Design Styles for Miniature Space Marines
As a 3D modeler with a keen interest in miniature building and painting for wargames such as Warhammer 40K, I delved into a fascinating endeavor. While the Space Marine stands as a pinnacle within this universe, a common observation surfaced among enthusiasts – a lack of design styles from diverse world cultures like Aztecs and African tribes.
This realization sparked a creative journey for me as I set out to infuse these underrepresented aesthetics into the iconic Space Marine miniatures. Drawing inspiration from the intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and symbolic motifs of Aztec art, as well as the rich textures and symbolic imagery prevalent in African tribal art, I embarked on a mission to blend these influences harmoniously with the futuristic essence of Warhammer 40K.
By incorporating elements from Aztec and African tribal designs, I aimed to introduce a refreshing perspective to the Space Marine miniatures, enriching their visual narrative and inviting a broader spectrum of cultural representation onto the battlefield.
This fusion of traditional artistry with futuristic warfare not only adds depth and diversity to the miniatures but also resonates with a global audience, celebrating the richness of cultural heritage in a realm where imagination knows no bounds. Through this creative exploration, I hope to inspire fellow hobbyists to embrace and showcase a myriad of design styles, opening doors to endless possibilities in the miniature wargaming world.
There is still more work to be done.
Embracing Growth in 3D Modeling.
As a 3D modeler based in Belfast, my journey of honing my craft is a continuous evolution. Every day brings new opportunities to learn, experiment, and push the boundaries of my skills. While I acknowledge that I am not yet at the midway point of my development in 3D modeling, I embrace this phase wholeheartedly.
The prospect of what the future holds excites me. Each project, each challenge, is a stepping stone towards mastery. I approach each day with a sense of curiosity and determination, knowing that there is always more to discover and create.
The road to artistic growth is a winding one, filled with surprises and lessons waiting to be learned. I am grateful for the journey so far and look forward to the endless possibilities that lie ahead in my 3D modeling endeavors.
